Hello Families!
My name is Camila Arnaiz, and I'm the Center Director here at WorldKids Bel-Red, our new language immersion school for little ones 8 weeks to 6 years old. So nice to meet you! I'm Peruvian and fluent in Spanish—I learned English after arriving in the United States as a young child. I come from a long line of educators: my mom is a teacher, and my dad was a college professor for many years. What really sparked my interest in early childhood education was my abuelita, who owned and operated her own childcare center in Peru for over 50 years. During my summer vacations as a child, I would teach English to the young children in her care.
I'm a proud graduate of Bellevue College (Go Bulldogs!) with a degree in Early Childhood Education and have over 13 years of experience in the field with a specialty in bilingualism. Having spent most of my career in bilingual schools, I've seen firsthand the amazing benefits multilingual education provides children. Beyond learning an additional language (or two!) that give them the ability to connect with so much more of the world, children gain an increased awareness and acceptance of diverse cultures.
When I'm not at WorldKids, you can find me at the dog park with my furry buddies, Pablo and Gizmo. I also love traveling, cooking (and eating!) cuisines from around the world, going to concerts, and working out. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions—I can't wait to meet you!
